Refund policy

Our 90-day Guarantee

Days 1-60: 60 days to trial your new garden. Request a return for any reason. We want you to love your garden; if you don't, we'll take it back.

Days 61-90: you enter an extended support period. Should you encounter any technical challenges with your garden, or you’re struggling to grow something in particular, we’ll support you. Returns can still be requested for manufacturing defects and performance issues.

The 60-day Trial

We want your shopping experience to match your indoor gardening experience; we want it to be stress-free and easy. To that end, we’re offering a 60-day trial on all our garden systems to give you time to figure out how to grow plants hydroponically if you’re completely new to it, and to determine if your new garden is right for you.

You have 60 days from the day you take delivery to request a return for any reason. However, please be aware of the following terms and conditions your return is subject to:

Condition: Garden systems must be returned in an "as-new" condition, thoroughly cleaned of all organic matter, and dried (including the pump if you purchased our smart hydroponic garden). Don't worry about returning used grow media or nutrient bottles, these are yours to keep as they are non-returnable.

We recommend cleaning your garden using paper towels and a solution of water and white vinegar, which does an effective job of removing even tough mineral deposits from water tanks.

Packaging: We strongly recommend keeping the original packaging. If discarded, you are responsible for sourcing equivalent protective packaging to ensure the item arrives back safely.

Shipping: To keep our trial financially viable and a fantastic benefit we can continue to offer to all of our customers, customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Once we approve your return request, we will provide you with a Royal Mail returns link you can use to generate a tracked shipping label or QR code. We'll then deduct £3.45 from your refund to cover the return shipping costs.

Exclusions: Items damaged through misuse or neglect are not eligible for return. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

Inspection and Refunds: All returns and refunds are subject to inspection. While we expect reasonable wear and tear, we reserve the right to make deductions for physical damage or a flat-rate £5 cleaning fee for our microgreen gardens or a £10 cleaning fee for our hydroponic smart garden if professional cleaning is required.

The 30-day Extended Support Window

Beyond the 60-day trial we offer an additional 30-day support window. If you encounter any issues during this window, our stance shifts to providing you with technical support in the first instance. We will work with you to troubleshoot growth issues or hardware hiccups. Returns in this window are handled on a case-by-case basis.

T&C’s for Accepted Returns Post-Trial: Please be aware that the terms and conditions listed above similarly apply to return requests approved during the extended support period.

The Returns Process

We use Shopify's self serve returns portal to make requesting a return as easy as possible. Once you've prepared your items to be returned by ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and repackaged as per the guidance above, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in: to your customer account by following the hyperlink or via one of the sign-in options on our website.

  2. Find your order: Navigate to your Orders page and find the order you wish to submit a return request for.

  3. Fill out the request form: Select 'Request return' shown at the bottom of your order. Choose a reason for your request and write "60-day trial" in the notes section if you are within the trial period.

  4. Provide evidence: If your request is due to damage or a defect, please upload photos to help speed up the approvals process.

Once submitted, we'll review your request within 5 business days. Once accepted, we’ll provide you with a link to a Royal Mail returns page you can use to generate your tracked return shipping label.

  • If you have a printer: Simply print the label, attach it to your package and drop off at a Post Office or a Royal Mail drop-off point.

  • If you do not own or have access to a printer: You will also have the option to generate a QR code using Royal Mail's "Labels to Go" service. Show your QR code at your local Post Office or Royal Mail Customer Service Point, and they will print the label for you.

Once your 60-day trial ends, you'll still be able to request a return via the self-serve returns portal for 30 days after. However, in line with the 30-day extended support section above, once we receive your request we will first work with you to address any challenges you're facing. If we find the issue is due to hardware or performance problems, we will then approve your return request.

Please note we cannot accept items sent back without a return request first having been made and approved.

You can always contact us for any question related to returns at returns@verdulo.com.

Damaged on Arrival

Should your order or any part of it be damaged, defective or incorrect on arrival, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We’ll then look into it and rectify the issue as soon as possible.

Exceptions / Non-returnable Items

Perishable goods such as used grow media, seeds or any plants or produce you grow are not eligible for return. Plant nutrient bottles that have been opened similarly cannot be accepted.

Refunds

We will let you know once we’ve received and inspected your return. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process your refund.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return and you still have not received your refund, please contact us at returns@verdulo.com.

Please note that if you bought an item in a sale, we’ll refund you the discounted price you paid; refunds won’t include savings already made through discounts.
