Our Story and Purpose

Join us on our journey to help Britain slow down.

We started Verdulo® to help those feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated by life to step away, disconnect and relax through indoor gardening. Afterall, gardening has been a favourite way of decompressing for us Brits for centuries!

A World out of Balance

When founder Jacob (pictured below) set out to build Verdulo, he thought deeply about the issues in society he wanted to help with. It was important that our reason for being took on a personal significance, and the issues we're targeting of burnout, digital fatigue and information overload are ones that Jacob struggled a lot with.

Did you know that 91% of UK adults experienced high or extreme levels of pressure or stress over 2025? [1] Or perhaps during the same year that nearly 40% of 18-24 year olds had to take time off work due to stress-related poor mental health?

At the same time, many of us struggle with maintaining focus and attention among the myriad distractions of modern life - nearly half of the UK public feel their attention is shorter than it used to be [2].

What's clear is that the pace and complexity of modern living often feels too much, prompting many to search for a slower, simpler way of life.

This is exactly what we want to help with!

A Purpose Rooted in Compassion

Gardening offers a great way to relax and unwind. Although for many, it's becoming harder to do - not everyone has access to outdoor garden space, or even much suitable indoor space for potted plants.

What's more, we know how busy life is, meaning you won't always remember to water the plants. That's why we lean on hydroponic technology to create a convenient and easy indoor gardening experience.

As we start out, we're offering a range of compact microgreen and smart garden systems designed to fit neatly onto a kitchen countertop or a window sill. Check out our product pages and soon-to-be-created grow guidance to learn how you can start seeding and sprouting.

Our Pledge to Supporting UK Mental Health

We strongly believe in the power of business to do good, and are committed to donating a minimum of 10% of our profits to UK mental health charities, which will increase to 50% as we grow.
